First off, I would like to start this review by providing my credentials...I have been a Kabuki Kid since my youth. I'm in my late 20's and I visit Benihana 10+ times a year. I personally consider myself a Brand Ambassador for Benihana and the Aoki family.
I recently moved to Illinois from New York and naturally I was quick to search "Benihana near me" in my internet browser. I found that the Lombard location was nearest to me and promptly made a reservation for me and m'lady later that evening.
As soon as I entered the Restaurant I was greeted with the scintillating scents of the Hibachi Dojo. There were Teppanyaki Tables for as far as the eye could see in every direction. The wait-staff was predominantly Asian, which added to the authentic feel of the restaurant.
As always, the food was delicious. From the chicken fried rice to the steak and shrimp of my Splash & Meadow. The cocktails were outstanding and of course we finished off the meal with some tasty scoops of ice cream.
Origato in Japanese is thank you and I am thankful that this restaurant is available. -

Been coming here for over 20 years. Used to visit the restaurant downtown on Erie (?) for years until they closed then we started coming to this location. Sometimes we visit the new location in the John Hancock building but parking downtown is hit or miss.
It was Mother's Day and we were told that there were no reservations until 9:30pm. We headed out after 8pm and upon arrival the place was half full so we were seated right away.
As a side note about this location....their hours are based on the whims of the manager. Three times in the past we have arrived at this location and they are closing early. Because of this, we usually take anything that is said regarding availability with a grain of salt.
Service is standard here and so is the food. We would come here because our kids ate all of their food. I ordered the Hibachi Supreme and shared with my husband. They ask ahead of time what temperature you want food cooked and attempt to meet that goal. It's definitely a good idea to keep an eye on your steak or lobster tail so that it won't be over cooked.
I ordered chicken fried rice, my husband ordered shrimp fried rice, and my daughter ordered spicy chicken friend rice. Their fried rice is usually great, probably because it's nice and fresh.
The filet was ok but a little fatty-ish for my taste but I ate 90% of it.
The lobster tail tasted fresh. It's a small portion. We had to ensure it wasn't over cooked. The people sitting at the table with us had a lobster tail as well and cooked it to the point I felt sorry for the dam thing. To each his own.
Honestly my favorite thing here is the Fuji Apple Sake but the food is always edible and we normally share so we eat all of our food. -

We had my sisters birthday dinner here last night and it was fantastic! I had the ocean delight (might not be the right name, Ocean something) a combo of shrimp, scallops and lobster all the seafood was cooked perfectly. My fiancé had the chatuabriand which was also cooked perfectly. The rest of our family had shrimp and chicken and every was very impressed with the quality and quantity of their meals.
We go out for hibachi all the time but haven't been to a Benihana's in years. We decided to come here so my sister could get her drink in a ceramic cat that she could take home haha and Benihana's has a great alcohol selection as compared to most hibachi restaurants.
I'm really glad we decided to come back. Definitely putting this restaurant in our rotation! -

I came to Benihana's to celebrate my husband birthday and we both surprised they did not have the egg yolk nor the garlic bread that goes on top of the lobster or shrimp . The rice that's is usually given with the meal at other restaurant here at Benihana's you have to pay extra for the stir fry rice. What I enjoyed the most of my server and cook they were very nice and polite.
I do not eat mushrooms no more so the cook gave my mushrooms to my husband. At the end my husband end up ordering stir fried rice -

I haven't been to a Benihana in over a year, so I was excited that there was one close to my hotel while on business travel in Chicago. I sat at the bar for starters and my sushi appetizer , soup and salad took way to long to come out. This location does not serve Yum Yum sauce!!! I'm shook! I had to google this! Lol My splash and meadow meal took way to long to come out and they served it with a dark brown mustard sauce. I am sad and disappointed. Had I known they didn't serve Yum Yum sauce I would not have come here.
